and the world has moved on. Polite society in the polar south dominates the trends of the noble and merchant classes across the globe. Young and ambitious people from all nations travel to the city-state of Renske every year to attend the university, or to make their fortune in the gaming houses. Saskia, a semi-professional and semi-legitimate gambler, makes her living ensuring the right people have their fortunes made.

When she meets a strange man with extraordinary powers, Saskia risks everything for the chance to apprentice in Astrologic — magic drawn from studying distant stars. In the halls of the Sidereal Company, where people do not age, she must wrestle with the gifts and costs of great power.

The Sidereal Company is an insular group of people dedicated to the study of Astrologic — magic drawn from distant stars. The company halls, a strange and labyrinthine collection of hallways and rooms, exist somewhere outside the boundaries of the ordinary world. Astrologicians leave those halls only to study new stars and discover new powers, or to take up contracts with those who can afford their extravagant fees.

Recent technological advancements in telescopes, mapping, and a renewed interest in the scientific method are causing a renaissance within the Sidereal Company itself, pitching the once calm group into a fever of rivalry, intrigue, and murder.

Sixty years ago the Company closed its doors and began a long and tedious process of electing a new leader. After so long without a decisive result, the Sidereal Company has opened its doors to renew their ranks. Should they survive their training, new apprentices will help elect a new leader and help secure the future for the Sidereal Company of Honourable Astrologicians.

at the dawn of a cold age

The world is growing colder. As the great southern ice grows closer with each passing year, the great shipping houses in the city of Renske grow in their power. Only the most desperate or most foolish merchants try their hand at rounding the southern cape without the help of a Renskar house. Privateers, employed by those Renskar houses, ensure few sailors survive to try it twice.

Home to both the famous university and the infamous gaming houses, Renske dominates the culture of the noble and merchant classes across the continent.

As the world grows colder, and the southern cape becomes both more dangerous and more critical, rival cities begin to set their designs on Renske.

With the return of the Sidereal Company, the balance of power in the far south is set to change at the whims of the highest bidder.
